“If any of the bones in the feet are incorrectly aligned, the whole body can be affected,”
Feet affect Balance & Stability
The body is reliant on the feet for balance and stability, but not everyone’s feet are correctly aligned which can cause problems. If any of the 28 bones in the feet are incorrectly aligned the whole body can be affected. For example the knee can rotate inwards; this then affects the hip, which in turn affects the back, groin and stomach muscles.
That’s where Foot Joint Mobilisation can help to encourage the bones of the feet into alignment. FJM is a gentle technique that mobilises the joints of the feet. It work’s on all of the joints of the feet in a systematic order. Foot Joint Mobilisation works on the foundation of your body, your feet.
Developed by a Podiatrist
Foot Joint Mobilisation was developed by Californian podiatrist Dr Harvey Lampell, using his specialist knowledge of foot anatomy, after he became concerned about the misshapen feet of his patients.
For the best results, Dr. Harvey Lampell recommends two sessions per week for 8 weeks to allow muscles to be re-educated to support each client’s structure in a more natural state.
Foot Joint Mobilisation is a gentle treatment, and a fully clothed modality; you only need to take off your shoes and socks.
It does not make any promise of perfect feet, but offers an improvement and a level of comfort from the present state.
Foot Joint Mobilisation can benefit those who suffer from
- Swollen ankles
- High arch
- Flat feet
- Aching feet
- Burning feet
- Hammer toe
- Claw toe
- Recurrent corn
- Plantar fasciitis
